Was WAY better than 358/2 days and Re:Coded in my opinion. I loved how you could play as both Riku and Sora but of course that was Square Enix's biggest advertisement. The gameplay was a lot like a modified version of Kingdom Hearts II which I loved to death. Flow motion and reality shifts were almost exactly like action commands, but were more dependent on the player which I thought was a great addition to the game. Also, instead of Donald and Goofy who were virtually worthless except for the occasional potion here an there, you have dream eaters by your side. These creatures not only are MUCH more useful in battle than the previously mentioned oafs, but you could also nurture them and play side games with them in order to make the dream eaters stronger. The only thing about gameplay I could complain about was dropping(after a while you automatically have to switch characters) during battles. This only happened to me once, but it was at the very end during one of the final bosses. I did hear complaints about this happening more than once to people who played the game, however. Even so, I liked the idea of limited playtime with each character. If that was not there, I would have finished the game with Riku and still be stuck at Traverse Town with Sora. It also helped so that you were not too far behind with the story, whereas in Birth By Sleep, you played through as one character and something would happen to progress another's story. There were a lot of "huh?" moments in that game. Even so, I loved Birth By Sleep. The storyline in that game filled in a lot of holes, and what that missed, Kingdom Hearts 3D filled in. This game was pretty much the finishing touch on the series, while still leaving the ending open for the up and coming third "official" game. The way the authors piced up the pieces in this game was genius. They tied even their oldest story of KH I into everything they ever released for this series. So many questions were answered, but there are still some loose ends...though I like that. There are a few things that bugged me in the story, but I think those are things that were SUPPOSED to bug you. If you play the game you'll find out what I mean. In retrospect, the storyline in Re:Coded and 358/2 days was good, but the games weren't exactly my favorite thing in the world. 3D covered everything from gameplay to storyline so nicely, I would recommend it to anyone. Even from the beginning, there was a reminiscent feel of Traverse Town, while introducing you to new characters who pretty much laid out a general idea of what was going on. I highly recommend this game, especially if you are a Kingdom Hearts fan. If you aren't, I still recommend it, because after every reference to a previous game in a cutscene, you get a special report telling you all about the mentioned game. :)
